Honorable Mr. Yungk:
Thank you for your response to my letter on the status of the Iranian human rights activist, Ms. Negin Shaykh Al-Aslami. I am sorry for responding to you later than expected. We had difficulties in obtaining the information for which you had asked, especially her case number.
Ms. Shaykh Al-Aslami has applied with the UN office in Erbil in Kurdistan-Iraq. Her case number is 463-01C13300. According to Ms. Shaykh Al-Aslami, her case has been sent to Amman, Jordan.
Currently, Ms. Shaykh Al-Aslami lives in Kurdistan-Iraq. Not many people know about her location. After her escape from Iran, the Iranian secret police have been constantly threatening her family and demanding her return. The pressure mounted to the level where they arrested one of Ms. Shaykh Al-Aslami’s brothers (later released) to make her family reveal Ms. Shaykh Al-Aslami’s location.
Ms. Shayh Al-Aslami is in need of your assistance to find a third country to live and resume her life, because as long as she lives in the region where the Iranian agents have been very active against Iranian dissidents in the past and had murdered many of them, she continues to fear for her life. Please help her.
Sincerely yours,
Kirmanj Gundi,
President
